Welcome to May Mays – personal gifts with a touch of love 💛
My name is Shirley May van Putten , mother of two beautiful sons and the founder of May Mays. What began in 2019 as a small idea at the kitchen table has grown into a brand full of warmth, meaning, and personal touches.
How it started ✨
My path to motherhood wasn't easy. After IVF, I was able to hold our first miracle in my arms. It made me even more grateful for the little things, the special moments, and the value of something personal. From that experience, I developed a desire to create gifts that are more than just utilitarian objects—gifts that symbolize love, hope, and connection.
From dream to brand 🌸
I started making personalized pacifier clips : practical, but above all, very personal. Because a name isn't just a word—it's a piece of identity, a piece of magic. Later, I added tutu skirts , hair accessories , and other handmade items. All in soft colors, with an eye for detail and a love for each material.
A bump in the road 💻
You might have missed us recently. My Instagram and website were hacked for months and I wasn't in charge. That was a difficult time, as I could no longer reach my clients. But after months of fighting, I finally got my accounts back—and I'm more determined than ever to continue growing May Mays.
Where we stand now 🌍
Today, my team and I handcraft every item in our studio, both in the Netherlands and Ibiza. No mass production, just genuine attention to detail and craftsmanship. Each product is carefully crafted from safe materials, beautifully packaged, and shipped as a gift.
